Ruth E. Meyers, 93, of Green Bay, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2011. She was the daughter of Arthur and Hattie (Classon) Leigh. They lived 5 years on the Meyers farm in Little River which Louis managed for his mother. They then bought a small farm in the town of Pensuakee on County J which was her original homestead.
Ruth taught school in Oconto and Brown County for 35 years. She retired from teaching in 1982. She spent the last 14 years teaching at Oconto Elementary. The family always enjoyed coming to Grandmas house for special gatherings and especially at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Grandma always made sure that she had homemade Poppy seed bread, Parker house rolls and cinnamon rolls for the big occasions.
She was preceded in death on June 7, 1995 by her loving husband, Louis Meyers who she shared her life with for 55 years; a son Ranny Meyers who passed away 4 years ago; 3 brothers: Willard Leigh, Larry Leigh and his wife Helen; Elmer Leigh and her sister June (Leigh) DeLano and her brother-in-law Edward DeLano.
