Obituary for John Riewe

John R. Riewe, 52, of Oconto, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2007, after complications from a stroke, at Woodlands of Oconto. John was born August 24, 1954 in Oconto to the late Victor and Elizabeth (Werth) Riewe. He married Cindy Cota on May 21, 2004. John graduated Valedictorian of Oconto High School in 1972 and graduated from UW Stout with an engineering degree. He worked for Wisconsin Public Service in Green Bay for 21 years and then for American Transmission Company in Pewaukee for a year and a half. John enjoyed astronomy, and built his own telescope, enjoyed riding his Harley, and loved his dogs and family. John is survived by his wife Cindy, Oconto Falls; step-daughter Chasidy Topel, Oconto; two step-sons Dustin Cota, Green Bay; Bret Topel, Green Bay; brother Tom (Julie) Riewe, Madison; sister Karen (Larry) Fritz, New Lisbon; mother and father-in-law Wayne and Marlene Cota, Oconto; brother-in-law Gary Cota, Green Bay; three sisters-in-law Debbie (Dan Dionne) Ferris, Oconto; Vicki (Mark) Kirchner, Oconto Falls; Connie (Mickey) Young, Oconto; grandson Brayden Tappa, nephews Eric Fritz, Jason and Kyle Riewe, niece Vicki Fritz, and many cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 2 to 4 PM Saturday, January 6, 2007. Memorial services will be conducted 4 PM Saturday at the funeral home with Intern Pastor Ann
