Obituary for Edith Pries

Edith Eleanor Pries, 90, of Oconto, passed away early Friday morning, June 23, 2006 at the Bond Health Center. Edith was born April 28, 1916 in Lena, first born to the late William and Pearl (Leigh) Chesley. Edith was raised in Lena, WI, where she met her future husband Walter Pries. Walter and Edith were married on August 25, 1938 in Lena. Edith loved playing the organ and was the organist for 50 years at the United Methodist Church, Lena and Oconto. Edith was an active member of the Oconto Eastern Star and served a term as Worthy Matron, she was also a member of the United Methodist Church, Oconto. Edith is survived by her husband of 67 years Walter Pries, Oconto; two daughters Jocelyn (Dennis) Brown, Waunakee; Linda (Fred) Behm, Germantown, TN; one son Robert Pries, Oconto; two sisters Illma Young, Oconto; Jean (Paul) Walther, Waunakee; seven grandchildren Lowell Pries, Marcel (Amanda) Pries, Leah Behm, Stacie Behm, Heidi Behm, Justin (Heidi) Brown; Denise Brown; one great granddaughter Maya Noelle Pries. She is preceded in death by one sister Apphia Orance-Lovison and one brother Lauron Chesley. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 PM Sunday June 25, 2006 and again on Monday June 26 at the United Methodist Church, Oconto, from 10 to 11 AM. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Monday at the church with the Rev. Frederik Schulz officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery. On line condolences may be expressed at
