Obituary for William DePouw

William P. DePouw, 90, passed away Friday September 23, 2005 at Rennes Health Center-West. Bill was born February 20, 1915 in Oconto to the late Charles and Anna ( Barman) DePouw. He married Marie L. Detaeye on October 17, 1936 in Oconto at St. Joseph Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on September 23, 2005 by only a few hours. Bill worked for Oconto Brewing Co. for many years. He then worked for Great lakes Shoe Co. until his retirment. Bill loved hunting, fishing and was an avid stamp collector. Bill was an Eagle Scout and past Scout Master. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and American Legion Post 74. Bill is survived by one son Donald (Annette) DePouw, Green Bay; two grandchildren Sarah (Mark) Nerenhausen, Oconto; Kristin (Bryant) Hodkiewicz, Stiles; five great grandchildren Alyson and Lauryn Nerenhausen, and Rease, Brynn, and Cole Hodkiewicz, one sister-in-law Leah DePouw, Oconto. He is preceded in death by his wife Marie, two brothers George and Raymond DePouw and one sister Loretta. The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM Tuesday September 27, 2005. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Tuesday at the church with the Rev. David C. Ruby officiating. Burial will be at Oconto Catholic Cemetery with military rites by American Legion Post #74. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, is assisting the family.
