Obituary for Walter O. Peters
Walter O. Peters, 96, of Abrams, went home to be with his Lord on November 22, 2012, after suffering a stroke a week earlier. Walter was born July 12, 1916 in Abrams to the late Fred and Dora (Delzer) Peters. He married Esther Potts in Morgan, on October 22, 1949. She preceded him in death on December 31, 1989. Walter loved his life as a farmer and still helped his grandson farm until his broken hip last June slowed him down. Walter was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Abrams. Walter is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Kozlowski, Abrams, a son, Wayne (Terri) Peters, Sobieski; two grandsons, Jesse Kozlowski, Abrams; Fred (Ashley) Kozlowski, Abrams; a granddaughter, Sheena Peters, Green Bay; four great-granddaughters Noelia and Allison Victoria, Jazlyn and Hazelle Kozlowski; a sister-in-law Marguerite Peters, Abrams; and several special nieces, nephews and cousins. Walter was preceded in death by a brother, Arnold Peters, son-in-law Dale Kozlowski, and Burl Gunderson. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 PM Sunday, November 25, 2012. Visitation will continue on Monday, November 26 at Calvary Lutheran Church, Abrams, from 10 to 11 AM. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Monday at the church with Pastor Andrew DeGier officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery.
