Obituary for Viola Addie Longsine

Viola A. Longsine, 87, of Green Bay, passed away unexpectedly Monday, March 1, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital, Green Bay. Viola was born January 21, 1929 in Oconto to the late Delbert and Addie (Beauleau) Whiting. She married Byron “T John” Longsine on April 14, 1945 in Oconto. He preceded her in death on July 29, 1992. Viola spent most of her life working in glove factories. She started at the age of 16 until retiring at the age of 66. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, picnics and traveling. She was a member of First Bible Baptist Church, Green Bay; a lifetime member of AMVETS Auxiliary Post 63 and the Oconto Handicap Association.

She is survived by two sons, Marvin (Deana) Longsine, Green Bay; Clayton “Tim” (Teri) Longsine, Oconto; seven grandchildren, Scott Shepard, Lisa Mongin, Tracey DesJarlais, Jamie Longsine, Chad Longsine, Crystal Vaile, Jody Vandenbush; ten great grandchildren, four brothers and five sisters. Viola was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters and one great granddaughter.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 7 PM Saturday, March 5, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted 7 PM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Harley Keck officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
