Obituary for Terry L. Donlevy

Terry Lee Donlevy, 51, passed away peacefully after a courageous 2 year battle with throat cancer on Friday, February 18, 2011 at the San Luis Medical & Rehabilitation Center, with his family by his side. Terry was born April 25, 1959 in Oconto to Bernice and Giles Donlevy. Terry grew up in Oconto and graduated from Oconto High School in 1978. Terry will be remembered by his family and friends as a kind hearted, fun loving person with a quick sense of humor. He loved to fish; his family and friends enjoyed many, many wonderful fish fry dinners. He enjoyed picking wild asparagus, always sharing his bounty, but never giving up its secret location. Terry loved playing cards, especially Smear, Poker and Cribbage. He was an avid Wisconsin Badger fan. He was known as "The Candy Man" at San Luis because he was always sharing his candy with everyone. Terrys happiest moments were those spent with his children and grandchildren.
Terry will be greatly missed by his three children; a son; Jacob (Heather) Donlevy and their children, Jaala, Leda and Rylee; and two daughters, Stephanie Donlevy (fiancee, Ryan Bauer) and their son, Carson; Melissa Donlevy. Terry is further survived by his parents; Bernice & Giles Donlevy; two brothers; Rene Kesler (special friend, Patricia Clements), Dennis (Dee) Donlevy; three sisters; Karen (Vernon) Viestenz, Kate (Dan) Black, Debi (Dennis) Shufelt. In addition many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, as well as his lifelong friend Jeff Melland. He was preceded in death by a sister Beverly (Kesler) McGee.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, February 24, 2011. Memorial services will be conducted 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Bobbie Skelly officiating. Terry will be forever loved, missed, and always remembered. We were blessed to call him our Father, our Son, our Brother, our Uncle and our Friend. Please share your memories about Terry as well as expressions of sympathy at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial fund.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Kroll, Dr. Guatum, Heartland Hospice (especially Sarah, for her kindness & friendship) and the 2nd floor staff at San Luis for their excellent care. A special thank you to Kelly W.& Sue and Kelly S. For going over and above with everything you did for Terry. Your care and kindness made Terrys stay at San Luis his home away from home. God Bless everyone of you.
