Obituary for Steven Lee Gering

Steven Lee Gering, 67, of Milwaukee passed away October 17, 2022. He was born in Oceanside, California on December 22, 1954 and is the late son of Beverly (Ter Maat) Bathke. He worked for Schmidt Moving Company for 40 years and saw all corners of the U.S.A. After his retirement, Steve loved spending time with his twin sister, Lynn, and her family in West Bend. He was an old school L.A. Rams fan and his favorite player was Roman Gabriel. He enjoyed word search puzzles , playing the lottery, watching nostalgic tv shows, was an avid muscle car enthusiast, winning at monopoly, and reminiscing of his childhood times in Oconto. Steve will be remembered for his infectious giggle (like his grandmothers), his kind soul, gentle spirit and love of animals.

Steve is survived by his beloved twin sister, Lynn (Dennis)Schloemer and her daughters, Angela and Trisha Turner; five brothers, Brett Bathke, Todd Bathke, Mark (Yasha) Gering, Bruce Gering, Kevin Gering; and two additional sisters, Jill (Greg) Economou and Lisa (Tony) Glass and numerous other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Hank and Marie (Wittkopf) Ter Maat, Arthur and Mary Lois (Mineau) Gering, and step father, Charles Bathke.

A private grave side service will be held at Evergreen Cemetery by Pastor Craig Alwin representing First American Lutheran Church, Oconto. Online condolences may be expressed at
