Shirley Ann Imig, 79, of Oconto, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Sun Valley Homes II, Oconto. Shirley was born May 16, 1935 in Lena to the late Henry and Mabel (Richer) Bitters. She married Alfred “Mike” Imig on June 6, 1953. He preceded her in death on October 15, 2013. Shirley loved to travel, and she and Mike traveled extensively and spent their winters in Arizona for 25 years. Shirley’s favorite passion was playing cards with family and friends. She was a member of First American Lutheran Church, Oconto.
Shirley is survived by two daughters, Cindy (Terry Moynihan) Belongia, Oconto; Connie (Mike) Frost, Oconto; three sons, Bob Imig, FL; Bill (Margaret) Imig, Green Bay; Bruce (Trisha) Imig, TX; a daughter-in-law, Lynn Imig, FL; three sisters, Loretta Lipp, Oconto; Beverly Hegeman, Lena; Barbara (Bill) Eckes, Abrams; a brother, Roger (Rita) Bitters, Oconto; two sisters-in-law, Jane Koloske, TX; Florence Imig, KY; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers Byron Bitters and Kenneth Bitters.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the First American Lutheran Church, Oconto, from 9 to 11 AM Saturday, March 28, 2015. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Saturday at the church with the Rev. Mary Zupansic officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
