Obituary for Rollin F. Payne

Rollin F. Payne, 76 Abrams, passed away at Sharpe Care in Oconto Falls on October 29, 2011 after a long 7 year battle with moderate Alzheimer dementia. He was born December 15, 1934 to the late Bernard and Clara (Denman) Payne in Richland Center, WI. He graduated from Wisconsin Academy, Columbus and attended Andrews University, Berrien Springs, MI. He served in the US Army from march of 1957 to march of 1959 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri and Fort Bliss, El Paso, TX. He was a licensed plumber, certified soil tester, owned and operated Payne Plumbing and Heating in Abrams until 1998. He also had farmed. On January 23, 1957 he married Meredith Marshall which together they had 4 children. They divorced in January of 1980. On February 3, 1984 he married Sharon Schliep. He will be sadly missed by his wife Sharon Payne, Abrams; 3 daughters Roxanne Payne, Abrams; Rolleen (Steve) Kralovec, Green Bay; Ronda (Ron) Davis, Salt Lake City, UT; and Meredith Payne, Salt Lake City, UT; grandchildren Christopher and Charles Rechner, Amanda, Samantha and Randy Payne, Katie and Becky Davis and great grandson, Damian Heyrman; brother LeRoy “Bob” (LeBerta) Payne, Marshfield; sister Letha (Dee) Reif, Sextonville; brothers-in-law Harold Shireman, Nevada, IA; Greg (Diane) Schliep, Abrams; sisters-in-law Audrey Payne, Seymour; Carol Schliep, Abrams; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons Rollin Jr. in 1972, Ralph in 2004, sisters Bulah Elaine and Lucille Shireman, brothers William and Donald, and two nieces. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 3 to 7 PM Tuesday, November 1, 2011. Visitation will again be held at Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service, Richland Center, from 1 to 3 PM Wednesday, November 2. Burial will be at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Willow, with Military Rites, following the visitation on Wednesday. On line condolences may be expressed at or
