Obituary for Rodger Allen Wendt

Rodger Allen Wendt, 64, Oconto, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 after a hard fought battle with lung cancer. He was born March 11, 1958 in Green Bay. Rodger graduated from Luxemburg Casco High School in 1976. He served in the US Navy. Rodger married his best friend and loving wife, Becky (Zima, Cook) on December 31, 1996. He retired from Waupaca Foundry, Marinette. Rodger loved his wife and his family, his home, gardening, feeding the birds, music trivia, traveling with Becky, and the Green Bay Packers.Rodger is survived by his wife, Becky, his parents, Marion and Donald Schultz, a daughter, Amanda (Matthew) Haugen, a son, Joshua (friend, Chellie), stepdaughter, Jody (Shawn) Reynolds, step son, Casey (Jackie) Cook, grandchildren Sebastian, Lillian and Lauren Haugen, Credence Wendt, Reece and Riley Reynolds. He is further survived by sisters, Laura (Jerry) Brown, Christine Smaney, and Gerald (Terrye Shedeger) Schultz, step brothers, Ron (Linda) Schultz, Michael Schultz, in-laws, Sharon (Edward) Weigelt, Shelby DePouw, William Schmolinske, Bruce (Cathy) Zima, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Rodger was preceded in death by his grand parents, Laura and Louis LeFevre, step sister Cindy Schultz, sister in law, Carol Schultz, sister in law, Vicki Schmolinske, brother in law, Ken DePouw, mother and father in law, Claudine and Casimir Zima.
Per Rodger’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. A Celebration of Life will be held for immediate family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
Special thanks to the St. Vincent ICU and IMCU nursing staff, Respiratory staff, Dr. Winkler and Pat Giesler, ACNP who cared for Rodger during this devastating six week battle.
