Obituary for Robert John Freeman

Robert John Freeman (aka John), 76, of Brethren, MI passed away peacefully with family by his side on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at Saint Claire’s Hospital, Oconto Falls, WI. He was born June 14, 1945 in Harlingen, TX at the Harlingen Army Airfield Hospital. He was born to Milton Robert Freeman and Katherine Jennie (Henderson) Freeman. He graduated from Carmen Ainsworth Senior High School, Flint, MI in 1963. John enlisted in the Army in 1966 and spent the following year (67-68) in Vietnam.
John is survived by his children Robert (Sherry) Freeman of Denmark, WI, Jennifer Freeman of Lennon, MI; Denise (Dan) Shananaquet of Lachine, MI; grandchildren Caaden Freeman, Zackery Freeman; Joshua (Ashley) Spigelmyre, Cody Spigelmyre, Dylan Spigelmyre, great-grandchildren Aiden, Brielle, Allie, and Matthew; siblings Sandra (Alfred) Jenson, Mike (Vicky) Freeman; nieces and nephews Mike (Sharon) Freeman and family, John Alan Jenson, Susan (Rob) Long and family, Brian (Amanda) Freeman and family. Lindsey (Jared) Layman and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
A formal military ceremony and celebration of life will be held for John on Saturday, July 31st, 2021 at 1:00 pm at the Manistee VFW, 1211 E. 28th Street, Manistee, MI 49660.
