Richard "Dick" Nerenhausen, 70, of Oconto, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at his home. Dick was born August 14, 1940 in Oconto to the late George and Helen (Werth) Nerenhausen. Dick graduated in 1958 from Oconto High School. After graduation from NWTI he was a Machinist at FMC Corp for nine years. On August 11, 1962 he married his high school sweetheart, Anne Menor, and together raised four children. Dick took over Oconto City Monument in 1969 from his father-in-law Ray Menor, and then just recently turned it over to his son-in-law Brian VandenLangenberg. Dick and Anne loved to go to Florida in their camper with their friends. Most of all he enjoyed watching his children grow up, sat for many sporting events and was so proud of them. Dick was a member of the First American Lutheran Church, Oconto, Oconto Lions Club for forty years, Oconto Gun Club for twenty years, and he had fun helping out the Oconto Skiing Patriots. Dick was also a volunteer fireman and bus driver for many years.
Dick is survived by his wife Anne Nerenhausen, Oconto; three sons Mike (Dawn) Nerenhausen, Oconto; Mark (Sarah) Nerenhausen, Oconto; Rick (Heidi) Nerenhausen, Sarasota, FL; a daughter Jill (Brian) VandenLangenberg, Oconto; and eight grandchildren Mikey, Nikki, Mackenzie, Alyson, Lauryn, Anna, Johnny and Alaina. He is also survived by many cousins and friends. Dick was preceded in death by his parents George and Helen Nerenhausen and his father and mother-in-law Raymond and Inez Menor.
