Raymond J. Lentz, 63, of Abrams, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at his home. He was the youngest son of William and Pauline (Frantz) Lentz, born March 29, 1953 in Menominee, MI. Ray joined the US Navy, proudly serving 2 years, 11 months, 21 day aboard the U.S.S. Little Rock CLG-4. He was able to see Italy while in service including, Rome and the Vatican City. He worked for Cargartts’ in Marinette with Jim Fisher; for the city of Menominee, the last years at Riverside Cemetery with Tom LaFleur; at Matravers Hardware in Oconto; Kimps Hardware in Howard. Ray “enjoyed a challenge” and took great pride in helping customers solve their house-hold problems. He also enjoyed working in his wood shop to finish off the inside of his and Charlie’s house and making items for family members. Many beers were drunk watching movies and westerns and sports and stories told and retold in “the man cave.” Ray took a lot of ribbing about being a Lions fan in northeast Wisconsin and watched every Lions game that he could, celebrating the good plays and groaning through the bad ones.
Raymond is survived by his wife of nearly 13 years, Carol “Charlie” (Bartels); brother, William (Laurel) Lentz, MI, and their children and grandchildren, Jeff and Jennifer, Jeffrey and Ella Lentz, NV; Ryan and Melissa, Brooke, Neveah and Colton Krycka, IN; Laurel’s mom Harriet “Gigi” Gotsch of St. Joseph, MI; Charlies children and “ the grand kids” Pat and Kate, Emily and Joseph Aerts, Abrams; and Jeremy Aerts of Little Suamico. Ray loved being a brother, uncle, great uncle and “one proud little grandpa.” No bull-sh*t!

Ray said he “wasn’t going anywhere until I’ve irritated enough people”, but he always said it with a smile :).
