Phillip Stanley Beaverson, 60, of the Town of Oconto, passed away Sunday, December 16, 2007 at his home. Phillip was born September 6, 1947 in Wauseon, OH to Stanley and Virginia (Gentit) Beaverson. He married Elizabeth ?Betsy? Tumelty on December 9, 1966 in Ypsilanti, MI. Phil served in the U.S. Navy from 64-68 and received a letter of commendation from the Rear Admiral of the U.S. Navy for his rescue efforts in a building demolished by an earthquake in Manila. Phil served two years at Johnsville Naval Air Base, when he met his bride of 41 years, and was stationed in Sangley Point Naval Base in the Philippines. Phil enjoyed bowling, golf, and more recently playing pool. Phil was a member of the Oconto Gospel Chapel. Phil is survived by his wife Elizabeth ?Betsy? Beaverson, Oconto; mother Virginia Beaverson, Bryan, OH; three daughters Joanne (Walt) Lybrand, West Chester, PA; Christina (Steven) Krueger, Coleman; Lisa Notz, Oconto; three sisters Patricia Beaverson, MI; Marilyn (Artch) Vanscoder, OH; Cindy (Michael) Joyner, IN; five grandchildren Hope Beaverson, Lance Notz, Katelyn, Krueger, Cameron Lybrand, Nathaniel Lybrand, and two great grandchildren Kaden John Beaverson and Ethyn James Rakowski. Phil is preceded in death by his father Stanley Beaverson. Friends and relatives may call at the Oconto Gospel Chapel from 5:30 to 6:30 P.M., Wednesday, December 19, 2007. Memorial service will be 6:30 P. M. Wednesday at the church with Rev. David Williams officiating. The Jones Modrow Young Post of the American Legion will conduct military rites.
