Obituary for Peter Paul Kiefer

Peter Paul Kiefer, 69, was called into the loving arms of Jesus on February 3, 2016. The son of the late Peter Paul and Amelia (Zahn) Kiefer was born August 28, 1946. He married the late Mary Ann Kuter on December 29, 1969, and together they celebrated 40 years of marriage. At the young age of 18, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and fought a long hard battle in the Vietnam War. After his Honorable Discharge, he spent many of his years owning and operating Pete’s Deep Rock in Oconto. From there he worked 25+ years at Packerland Packing in Green Bay, where he retired. For the last 11+ years, he truly enjoyed working at the Holy Trinity Parish as their maintenance employee. He would often talk very highly of Father Joel, the parish staff and many members of the church and community that he loved so much. He loved anything to do with his Grandchildren, you would see the sparkle in his eyes, whenever he was in their presence. He loved spending time with his Special Friend, Glenda as well as his buddies having a few cocktails and playing some cards. He enjoyed riding around in his little blue pick-up truck to explore the town that he loved and lived in for over 40 years. He loved playing on his snow and lawn tractors. It was nothing for him to snow blow his whole block!

Pete is survived by his daughters, Heidi Jo (Kiefer) Hipke (special friend Tom Erieau), Oconto; Angel Kiefer, Oconto; Andrea (Dan) Hanson, Sanford, Maine. Special friend Glenda Erdman, five sisters, Rose, Katie, Helen, Alvina and Bernice; two brothers, Joe Kiefer, Frank Kiefer; grandchildren, Aaron Kiefer, Jacob Ausloos, Trey Hipke, Tori Hipke, Amanda Erieau, Brady Erieau; two great grandchildren, Jordy Nerenhausen and Ethan Ausloos; many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by a grandson Peter Paul Kiefer III and three brothers.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto, from 10 AM to 12 Noon Monday, February 8, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 12 Noon Monday at the church with the Rev. Joel Sember officiating. Burial will be at the Oconto Catholic Cemetery with Military Rites by the Oconto American Legion Post #74. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.

To our wonderful Dad: You were the best Dad that anyone could ever ask for. Please know that every piece of our hearts and every ounce of our souls will forever miss you. We know that you have reached the beautiful land above and we are at peace knowing that you and Mom are dancing and singing with the Angels.
