GRIEF & HEALING
affirmations to uplift & help you through
each stage of the grieving process.
Paul B. “Joe” Brabant, 75, went to be with our Lord on June 10, 2018. Joe was born June 22, 1942 to the late Norman and Pearl (Shallow) Brabant. Joe served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968 and returned to Oconto where he met Ina Ristow. They were married on October 19, 1968 at St. Peters Catholic Church and would have celebrated 50 years of marriage this year. Joe farmed in the town of Little River and retired after 22 years. He then went to work for Saputo Cheese as a forklift driver for another 13 years. Joe was an avid gardener and loved to share the fruits of his labor with everyone. Things that Joe loved most in life were the Lord and Blessed Mother, his family, and being a US Army Veteran.
Joe is survived by his wife of 49 years, Ina Brabant; children, Melissa, Matthew, Marsha, Michael (Ashley), and Molly; his beautiful granddaughters, Grae and Zoe; sisters, Genevieve Young, Mary Kamin, Rita ( Bob) Norton, Audrey Woodworth, Bernice Leigh, Bonnie TerMaat; a brother, Robert (Connie) Brabant. He is also survived by his extended family, Kevin and Jagger Schneider. He was preceded in death by brothers, Norman Jr, “Sonny”, Francis “PeeWee”, Lawrence “Lard”, and Dean “Tunk”; and sister, Joyce “Dee Dee” Presl.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 PM Thursday, June 14, 2018 with prayer services by Rev. Bob Karuhn at 7 PM. Visitation will continue on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 10 to 11 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 AM Friday at the church with the Rev. Bob Karuhn officiating. Burial will be at the Oconto Catholic Cemetery with Military Rites by all Oconto Veteran Organization. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation to St. Judes Children’s Hospital as Joe loved children.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Oconto Rescue Squad, and the Oconto Bellin Hospital for their tender care. We also want to thank our family friend, Father Robert Karuhn, who came to anoint and pray with the family as Joe made his journey to Heaven.
Please remember our husband, father, grandfather, and brother Joe with a smile on his face and a joke to make everyone laugh.
