Obituary for Patricia L. DeWitt

Patricia (Pat) Lorraine DeWitt passed away peacefully on April 29th at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay, WI after suffering a stroke. Pat was born October of 1940 in Marinette, WI to the late John and Lenora (DeWolfe) Rymer. She spent her childhood on her family’s farm in Beaver, WI until the death of her father in 1952. The family then moved to Green Bay, WI where Pat attended Preble High School, graduating in 1958. After high school Pat earned an elementary education degree from University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and spent a number of years teaching in the Green Bay and southern Door County school districts. Pat Married Doug DeWitt in 1968 and together they had two children, Karla and Don. Pat made Oconto, WI her home and was an active community member, serving as a volunteer in numerous organizations. She had an active social life and was known by many throughout the community. She was always up for good conversation, a good joke and a few good laughs. She was appreciative of her friends, family and extended family and cherished the many relationships she had developed. Her quick wit and sense of humor will be missed by many.
Pat is survived by a daughter, Karla Doyle; a son, Don DeWitt; two step-sons, Kimm (Angie) DeWitt, Terry (Patti) DeWitt; two sisters, Lois (Ronn) Manders, Sue (Curt) Rentmeester; two brothers, Robert (Kay) Rymer, Alan (Lynette) Rymer; a sister-in-law, Suji Rymer; a brother-in-law, Ray Cardenas; four grandchildren, Aidan, Sarah, Lauryn and Riley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Cardenas; two brothers, Jerry Rymer, Wayne Rymer and a brother-in-law, Jim Manders.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the First Presbyterian Church, Oconto, from 9 AM to 12 Noon Friday, May 7, 20201. Funeral services will be conducted 12 Noon Friday at the church with the Rev. Craig Alwin officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. A special thank you to the many people who assisted Pat in the final years of her life especially John and Christy Eparvier, Emily Denkins.
