Orlando “Lon” Sohrweide, 89, Oconto, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at Care Partners, Oconto after a courageous battle with cancer. Orlando was born August 16, 1932 in Oconto to the late Harry and Eunice (Curran) Sohrweide. He married Shirley Bishop on April 25, 1953. She preceded him in death on November 12, 2012. Orlando served his country in the US Air Force. He was a lifelong member of Oconto United Methodist Church. He enjoyed working with the youth at church and as Oconto Little League and Babe Ruth coach. Orlando worked as an electrical engineer and held many management positions. He served his town on many boards and committees. Orlando was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Orlando is survived by a daughter, Brenda (Dan Marquardt) Beauleau; two sons, Lon (Mary) Sohrweide, Brian (Tracey) Sohrweide; a brother, Roger (Carol) Sohrweide; a sister-in-law, Patricia Sohrweide; seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Sohrweide and a sister, Juanita “Sis” Boes.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the United Methodist Church, Oconto, from 9 am to 12 Noon Monday, September 20, 2021. Memorial services will be conducted 12 noon Monday at the church with the Rev. Frederik Schulz officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
