Norman "Norm" C. Noah, 80, of Oconto, passed away Thursday, August 20, 2009 at his home. Norm was born July 2, 1929 in Greenwood to the late Emil and Marianna (Braun) Noah. Norm married jean LaViolette on September 9, 1967. She preceded him in death on March 24, 2006. Norm served in the US Army during the Korean War where he earned the Purple Heart the Bronze Star and the Korean Service Medal. Norm earned his Masters Degree and taught sciences for 37 years at the Oconto Senior High School. He was very involved in the community and church activities. He enjoyed an array of hobbies from crafts to woodworking. Norm was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto, American Legion Post #74 where he was a long time Sergeant at Arms, and a member of the Retired Educators Association
Norm is survived by his son Daniel (girlfriend Amanecer Walker) Noah, Pleasant Prairie; four brothers Frederick (Ruth) Noah, Hawthorne, CA; Herbert (Katie) Noah, Stevens Point; Verlan Noah, Loyal; Elmer (Jill) Noah, Greenwood; five sisters Evelyn (Orville) Hoffmann, Hartford; Bernalda Karlen, Greenwood; Arvilla (Bob) Blunck, Owen; Arlene (Bob) Stark, Neillsville; Kathleen (Dick) Fitzl, Loyal; God child Michael (Nancy) McTavish and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean, brother Howard Noah, niece Michelle \"Mitzie\" McTavish, two sisters-in-law Susie Noah, Joanne Noah a brother-in-law Wilton Karlen a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Joseph "Sandy" and Dorothy "Pat" McTavish
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 9 PM Monday, August 24, 2009 with prayer services at 7:30 PM by Deacon Walter Kaszynski. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, August 25 at Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto, by the Rev. Patrick Beno. Military Rites by American Legion Post #74.
