Obituary for Norma Stemper

Norma Jean Stemper, 74, of Oconto, WI passed away peacefully at the Bayshore Pines Residential Facility in Oconto on March 31, 2007. Norma was born in Wales, WI on January 29, 1933 to the late Charles and Florence Rebholz. She grew up in Southeastern WI and graduated from Mukwonago High School in 1951. She married Daniel J. Stemper May 9, 1953 at St. James Church in Mukwonago, He preceded her in death on June 12, 2000. Norma was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of Holy Trinity Parish, Oconto. She did volunteer work for years as the church sacristan when it was St. Joseph Parish. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed her crafts and was excellent at sewing, needlepoint and wreath making. She also loved the winters she spent in Florida where she amassed an amazing collection of sea shells. Most of all, she dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchild and loved spending time with them. Norma is survived by her seven children and their spouses; Scott (Jan) Stemper, Cooper City, FL; Marty Stemper, Sturgeon Bay; Chris Stemper, Milwaukee; Perry Stemper, DePere; Julie (John) Reed, Oconto; Randy (Shelley) Stemper, Green Bay; Tricia (Tom) Hoffman, Oconto. She is survived as well by her siblings; Russell (Madge) Rebholz, Shawano; Karen (Chuck) Hokenstad, Clintonville, WI; Jane (Clark) Gossett, Jackson, GA; William (Chung) Rebholz, Griffin, GA; and two sisters-in-law, Joyce (Walter) Weber, St. Germain, WI and Judy (Gayle) Warner, Ft. Collins, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Janice Waltz and Rosemary Juranich, and a brother-in-law, Gerald Stemper. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren; Kate and Abby Stemper, Cooper City, FL; Grant and Allison Stemper, Peshtigo, WI; Kristy (Joe) Patenaude, Nikki and Alyssa Reed, Oconto; Jessica and Sara Stemper, Green Bay; Matt, Kaylee and Danny Hoffman, Oconto; and a great grandchild Faith Patenaude, Oconto. Friends may call at Holy Trinity Parish from 10 to 11:30 A. M., Wednesday April 4, 2007 at Holy Trinity Parish with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 A. M. with Rev. Patrick Beno officiating. Burial will be a the Oconto Catholic Cemetery. On line condolences may be expressed at The family would like to thank Cris Prince and the entire staff at Bayshore Pines for the wonderful care and attention given to Norma during the last months of her life. They also thank the ladies from Woodlands Home Health Care in Suring, WI. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorials be given in the form of memorial masses at Holy Trinity Parish.
