Norma Jane Erdmann, 88, Abrams, died Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Atrium Post Acute Care, Oconto Falls. Norma was born February 27, 1929 to the late Hubert and Irene (Hellmann) Waldow. She married LeRoy Erdmann June 4, 1949. He preceded her in death in 1983. Norma was a lifelong resident of Abrams. Norma and LeRoy farmed in Brookside. After farming, they moved to Main Street, Abrams, where they owned and operated Erdmann’s Bar (on the loop). Norma worked as a cook at the Abrams Elementary School and Coleman Products for many years. After retiring, Norma worked as a hostess at the Candleglow and tended bar at the Pine Acres Golf Course.
Norma loved her family and friends. She enjoyed listening to her player piano and loved Friday nights sitting on her porch swing, where everyone gathered to share stories. There was always plenty of laugher and good times to be had by all.
Norma is survived by two daughters, Linda VanPay (Cliff Allen), Pulaski; Susan (Jim) McDermid, Abrams; two sons, Mark “Porky” Erdmann, Abrams; Ricky (Pam) Erdmann, Little Suamico; four grandchildren, Kyle (Erica) VanPay, Cody (Michelle) Erdmann, Sierra Erdmann, Trevin (Alisha) Erdmann; two step-grandchildren, Laurie (Andy) Bateman, Rob (Salima) Stevens; five great grandchildren, Rylee, Hannah, Carter, Brock and Mina; a sister, Mabel Sutrick, Abrams; a brother-in-law, Lloyd “Butch” Bartels, Abrams; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria (Bill) Peters, Elaine Bartels, son-in-law, Ronald VanPay, brother-in-law, Dan Sutrick.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 9 to 11 AM Monday, August 14, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Frederik Schulz officiating. Burial will be at Brookside cemetery.
