Nancy Louise Sallee (Nelson), 71, of Oconto, was received into the arms of the Lord on March 1st, 2022, at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was born November 22nd, 1950, to the late Robert and Lorraine (Baribeau) Nelson. Nancy graduated from Marinette High School and earned her LPN degree from NWTC. Over the years, she was employed by Marinette General Hospital, Menominee Paper, and Osco Drug. Nancy enjoyed winter travels with her husband Kenny in her retirement while summers were spent at home boating and fishing on the Oconto River. Nancy was a fantastic cook, and she enjoyed giving to others. She crocheted lap blankets for veterans and never failed to lend her creative talents when needed, always going the extra mile. Even gifts to her children and grandchildren were wrapped works of art. An animal lover, Nancy could not resist a furry face and a wet nose. Her caring, kindness and humble sense of humor will be greatly missed by her friends, family, and her dogs, Charlie and Buddy.
Nancy is survived by her husband Kenny Sallee of Oconto, two daughters, and three grandchildren: Tiphanie (Ed) Benoit and son Ethan of Macomb, Melissa (Bill) Huber, and sons Grady and Isaac of Green Bay. She is further survived by two brothers, Wayne (Vanessa) Nelson and David (Barb) Nelson and one sister, Donna (Mark) Stanke, as well as an uncle, Francis Baribeau. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, sister Linda (Ken) O’Leary, and husband Bill Benchley.
A service of remembrance will be held at Zion Lutheran Church in Marinette on April 30th. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
service at 11 a.m. and lunch and fellowship at noon.
