Obituary for Mick Strandt

Mick Strandt, 67, Wausaukee, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Bellin Hospital, Green Bay. Mick was born February 26, 1950 in West Allis to the late Robert and Janet (Zachow) Strandt. After harassing each other from the age of eighteen, he married Sue Karczewski on April 14, 1973. Mick was a highly decorated Vietnam Vet serving in the US Army. He was a professional drummer for the rock band The Hinge. Mick served as secretary/treasurer for the Town of Wagner Volunteer Fire Department and as hunter safety instructor for 4H. He was a member of the Military Order of the Purple Heart, where he served as financial officer, and Vietnam Veterans of America.

Mick is survived by his wife, Sue Strandt; two sons, Mike (Gail) Strandt; Tim (Marge) Strandt; four sisters, Gwynne (Marty) Cvikel; Betsy (Bob) Kovach; Luann (Mike) Bulow; Lisa Murray; three brothers, Bob (Geri) Strandt; Doug (Linda) Strandt; Craig Strandt; five grandchildren, Alex (Michelle) Gruszczynski, Raistlin Short, Steven Strandt, Xander Short and Logan Strandt. He was preceded in death by a sister, Robi Burns and a brother-in-law, Jim Murray.

It was Mick’s wishes that services be private. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
