Obituary for Marion E. Hartman

Marion Eleanor (Clausen) Hartman loving wife, mother, and grandmother passed away peacefully March 29, 2015 at the age of 92. Lifelong resident of Oconto, Marion was born to Frederick O. and Margaret J. (Bailey) Clausen on January 24, 1923. On March 20, 1943 Marion married Robert L. Hartman. He preceded her in death on June 16, 1988. Marion was devoted to her family, unselfishly putting the needs of others before her own. She was a meticulous housekeeper, great cook and baker. At the same time, Marion was a dedicated employee working at many different jobs; Schultz Drug Store, Bond Pickle, Great Lakes Shoe Factory, Snack Shack, Tangiers, Cruiser Boat, and Brazeau’s Grocery. Some of her hobbies included sewing, ceramics, knitting and beading. Marion also enjoyed sharing her beautiful voice singing for weddings, funerals, and in church.
Marion was very proud of and thoroughly enjoyed her entire family which includes; 5 Children, 10 Grandchildren , 20 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild - Robert J. (Linda)Hartman of Aurora IL- Heather and Mike Runge (Allyson, Sydney, Mikayla, Kendall )- Robert Jr. and Krystal Hartman (Robby, Julianna); Judith A. Hermsen (Robert Heroux) of Green Bay -Anne and David Hartberg (Michael, Andrew, Rachel and Allison)- Krista Wittkopf (Noah, Tucker, Grace) - Thomas and Rita Hermsen (Taylor, Morgan)- Megan and Ben Buehler (Emily, Ryan); James R. (Carol) Hartman of Porterfield -James and Jenny Hartman (Trenton, Austin, Morgan )– Jeffrey Hartman –Kate and Travis Reidell (Ellysa); Jane M. (Daniel)Walsingham of Green Bay – (Margaret Walsingham (Ray); and Julie E. (Donald) Baye of Green Bay. She is also survived by one sister Alice LaViolette, Silver Lake, WI and is further survived by many nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by an infant daughter, Cindy; two sisters, Marie Lade and Eleanor Hempel; two brothers, Kenneth and Frederick Clausen and brother in law’s Jim Hempel and Jack La Violette.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 2 to 5 PM Friday, April 3, 2015. Memorial services will be conducted 5 PM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Mary Zupansic officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
In lieu of flowers, Marion requested any memorial contributions received should benefit the American Heart Association and the Diabetes Foundation.
