Margretta G. Bond-Benson, 90, of Oconto, died Friday March 17, 2006 at Angelus Retirement Community in Bellevue. Margretta was born September 1, 1915 in Oconto to the late Frederick and Josephine (Destiche) Strack. She married Donald Bond on December 7, 1940 in Oconto. He preceded her in death on September 14, 1972. On October 25, 1980 she married James R. Benson. Margretta was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, and the Lady Shrine. Margretta is survived by her husband James Benson, four sons Douglas Bond, Venice, FL; Gary (Cheryl) Bond, McKinney, TX; Robert (Mary) Bond, Riverton, UT; Kenneth (Lynn) Bond, Green Bay; one sister Luella Sloup, Oshkosh; two step-sons James (Gail) Benson, Bettendof, IA; and Peter (Sandy) Benson, Kaukauna; thirteen grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by one grandson Derek Bond and one step-daughter Lola Aland. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 9 PM Tuesday March 21, 2006 with prayer services at 7 PM by Deacon Walter Kaszynski. Visitation will continue on Wednesday from 10 to 11 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11 AM at the church with the Rev. David C. Ruby officiating and burial at Evergreen Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff from Angelus Retirement Community, Heartland Hospice, and all those involved in her wonderful compassionate care. In lieu of flowers memorials have been established for the American Heart Association and the Shriners.
