Obituary for Margaret Grace Cain

Margaret Grace Cain, 99, of Oconto, passed away Saturday, November 1, 2014 at her home. Margaret was born August 9, 1915 in Suamico to the late Frank and Sarah (Beaucock) Ward. Margaret married Harold Cain on May 2, 1936. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2007. Margaret worked at Brazeau Grocery Store, and also worked as a Jail Matron for the Oconto County Sheriff Department. Margaret liked to bake and her chocolate cake was the best in the world. She was a member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church, Marinette, and served on the Alter Guild at St. Marks Episcopal Church, Oconto.

Margaret is survived by three daughters Jean (Dick) Olson, Oconto; Mary Jane (DeWayne) Little, Redding, CA; Betty Cain, Oconto; two sons David (Karen) Cain, Stiles; Dennis (Barbara) Cain, Greenville, TN; a sister Helen Denneau, LA; a brother, Leland (Anita) Ward, Mequon; twelve grandchildren, Teri, Nikki, Rick, Denise, Kathleen, Melissa, Michael, Kristin, Courtney, Denise, Kimberly, Tami; twenty nine great-grandchildren, four great great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law, Alice Alfredson, Lena; two brothers-in-law, John Cain, Clarence “Dude” Cain, Green Bay;. She was preceded in death by a son, Leland Cain, a daughter, Carol Cain, one brother and six sisters.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, November 5, 2014. Visitation will continue on Thursday, November 6, from 10 to 11 AM at St. Pauls Episcopal Church, 917 Church St., Marinette. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Thursday at the church with the Rev. William Bippus officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery.
