Loretta Mae Lipp (Bitters), 91, longtime Oconto, WI resident died on her birthday, October 14, 2017 at Sun Valley Homes in Oconto. Loretta was born October 14, 1926 in Green Bay to Henry and Mable Bitters. After graduating from Lena High School, she worked for several years as secretary for the Lingelbach Garage, Oconto County Reporter and James Plier, Attorney. She married Mike J. Lipp on June 14, 1947. She and Mike celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary before Mike’s death in 2013. They have seven children who survive them: five daughters, Cathy Augustine (Philip), Oconto; Marsha Hermsen (Robert), Naples, FL; Carla Woods (Steven), Sheboygan; Gayle Hanes (J. Bradley), Deerwood, MN; Brenda Zimanek, Oconto; two sons, Bradley Lipp (Marie), Oconto; and Bryan Lipp (Lisa), Leland, NC; two sisters, Beverly Hegeman and Barbara Eckes (William); and one brother, Roger Bitters (Rita). She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Byron Bitters (Donna) and Kenneth Bitters (Marilyn), one sister, Shirley Imig (Alfred), and son-in-law, Kenneth Zimanek.

Loretta’s seven children kept her very busy. She was always the chauffeur for their many activities. In addition, she loved playing cards, bingo and bowling. She and Mike wintered for over 25 years in Sen Benito, TX. In the summer, they enjoyed camping in their Winnebago and fishing. The Fourth of July campsite gatherings of her large extended family at Way Dam will always remain a favorite family memory. Family times meant a great deal to her. She was a lifelong member of First American Lutheran Church in Oconto being baptized, confirmed and married there. She was a member of Sarah Circle and was ticket chairperson for the church’s annual Harvest Supper for many years. She will be remembered dearly by her family for her patience, kindness and friendliness to others.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 7 PM. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at First American Lutheran Church, Oconto, from 10 to 11 AM. Funeral service will follow at 11 AM at the church. Burial will be at the Oconto Evergreen Cemetery. Online condolences may be given at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.

Loretta’s family would like to thank Unity Hospice, especially Julie, and Sun Valley Homes staff and residents for their great care and love that they gave to mom during the past 4 years.
