Obituary for Joseph Maynard Cardinal
Joseph Maynard Cardinal, 83, of Oconto passed away peacefully at his home Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Joe was born September 7, 1929 in Oconto to the late Joseph and Ruby (Courchaine) Cardinal. He married Audrey A. Jackson on September 26, 1953. She preceded him in death on February 5, 2002. Joe joined the US Army in 1951 and served in the 1st Calvary Division. His most enjoyable times were spent outdoors with his family. You couldn’t ask for a better father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather, teacher and friend. Joe was a member of the United Methodist Church, Oconto. Joe is survived by a daughter, Lorri (Milton) Kilbey, Milwaukee; four sons Michael (Kevin) Cardinal, St. Paul, MN; Patrick (Laurie) Cardinal, Milwaukee; Thomas (Cindy) Cardinal, Oconto; Daniel (Melissa) Cardinal, Oconto; ten grandchildren Joleena Kilbey, Carrie Kilbey, Brittany Cardinal, Tierrney Cardinal, Joshuah Cardinal, Chad Cardinal, Joseph Cardinal, Katie Cardinal, Daniel Cardinal II, Amanda Cardinal; five great grandchildren William Stiggers, Marcus Irving, Daniel Cardinal III, Conner Cardinal, Bradley Cardinal. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 1 to 3 PM Saturday, January 5. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 PM Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Frederik Shulz officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery with Military Rites by American Legion Jones Modrow Young Post #74. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
