James F. Milan, 81, of Oconto, passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at St. Marys Hospital, Green Bay. Jim was born March 17, 1929 in Oconto to the late Herbert and Lela (Shark) Milan. He married June Zimmerman on September 26, 1953. Jim was a wonderful father and great family man, and his great grandchildren meant the world to him. He worked at the Oconto Brewing Co. until it closed in 1969, he then drove dump truck for Foster Inc. for twenty six years. In his younger years Jim enjoyed snowmobiling. Jim was very handy and could fix just about anything. He also enjoyed doing yard work. Jim served his Country in the US Army. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto.
Jim is survived by his wife June Milan, Oconto; two daughters Kathleen (Gary) Trudell, Green Bay; Pamela (significant other Neal) Milan, DePere; three grandchildren James (Brenda) Trudell, Keith (Misti) Trudell, Andrew (Angela) Trudell, and six great grandchildren Savannah, Dalton, Kailyn, Aubrey and Leighton Trudell and Briseis Metoxen. He was preceded in death by a grandson Troy C. Milan and two brothers and two sisters.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 PM Monday, January 10, 2011with prayer services by Deacon Walter Kaszynski at 7 PM. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, January 11 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, January 11 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto, with the Rev. Joel Sember officiating. Burial will be at the Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
