Obituary for James Exferd

James L. Exferd, 54, of Oconto, died Saturday, February 23, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Jim was born December 1, 1953 in Oconto to the late Alvin and Ruth (Mack) Exferd. Jim married Christine Dezie on December 28, 2007. Jim Graduated from UW Oshkosh with a BA in Education. Jim worked for Darwin Electric for 20 years and then Peshtigo Asphalt for 10 years. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, cards and being with his friends and family. Jim was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church and the Oconto Sportsman Club. Jim is survived by his wife Christine, Oconto; two brothers Michael (Lynn) Exferd, Oconto; Clayton (Beverly) Exferd, Green Bay; three sisters Betty (Francis) Warrichaiet, Oconto; Mary (John) Schultz, Oconto; Patricia (Leonard) Dorner, Green Bay; mother-in-law Jessie Dezie, Duluth, MN; sisters-in-law Leslie (Joe) Flynn, Jacksonville, FL; Andrea (John) Almquist, Duluth, MN; a brother-in-law Jerry Springstroph, Freedom; and three God children Sara Berken, Brady Exferd, and Katie Warrichaiet. Jim is also survived by many special nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by two sisters Janet Exferd and Carine Springstroph. The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto, from 10 AM to 1 PM Thursday, February 28, 2008. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM Thursday at the church with the Rev. Patrick Beno officiating. The Gallagher Funeral Home and Cremations Service is assisting the family.
