Obituary for James D. Petersen

James D. Petersen, 81, of Oconto, passed away Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Parkview Manor. Jim was born May 10, 1931 in Oconto to the late Jack and Isabelle Petersen. Jim served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict as a helicopter Mechanic. After serving his country, Jim was an iron worker. He worked on the Tower Drive bridge, Lambeau Field sky boxes and Fort Howard. Jim, along with his brother Charlie and nephew Mike Petersen, worked on the Union job at Appleton Lutheran Aid. Jim was proud to be a member of the Iron Workers Union 8. Jim is survived by two sons, Steve (Karen) Petersen, Pensaukee; Todd (Paula) Petersen, Stiles Junction; a sister, Ruth Belongia; two grandchildren Merle Petersen and Kylie Petersen; three step-grandhildren, Kim James, Kayla Sieglaff, John Reed Jr.; nine step-great-grandchildren, Bentley Reed, Mercedes Reed, Christopher Pisha, Chasity Pisha, Kara Pisha, Benjamin Pisha, Anders Pisha, Alexis James, and Jacob James. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris and Salma, and a brother Charles Petersen. There will be no services.
