James Thomas Brill Sr., 73, of Oconto, passed away Wednesday June 29, 2005 at his home. James was born December 13, 1931 in Stevens Point to the late Joseph and Phyllis (Klicinski) Brill. James worked for Marinette Marine for many years, retiring in 1998. He worked for the Sheriffs Department as a Volunteer in Probation. In his retirement James was an ordained minister and deacon for St. John Cantius in Sobieski and was a Christian Counselor. James was a gun enthusiast and won many awards for his pistol marksmanship. He also enjoyed and loved his children and grandchildren very much. James was a member of St. John Cantius, Sobieski and the Knights of Columbus. James is survived by four daughters Rhonda (Russell) Sowle, Oconto; Sandra Brill, Oconto; Debra (Mark) Hencke, Oshkosh; Diane Brill, Oconto Falls; three sons James Brill Jr. Milwaukee; Joseph (Stacy) Brill, Oconto; Daniel (Tammie) Brill, Oconto; eight grandchildren two great grandchildren, and good friend Catherine Brill. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 PM Friday July 1, 2005, and again on Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at St. John Cantius, Sobieski. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Saturday at the church with the Rev. Gerald A. Prusakowski officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cantius Cemetery.
