Herlene E. Lasley, 87, Oconto, died Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at her home. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on January 30, 1931 to the late Arthur and Clara (Lemke) Krumhus. On December 26, 1951, she married James J. Lasley at First American Lutheran Church in Oconto, exactly one month after his return from service in Korea. Herlene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved animals and encouraged others to treat them with kindness. She enjoyed reading and gardening. She also had happy memories of RV trips she and Jim took every winter for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; three children, Dave (Debbie) Lasley, Loralee (James Kempfer) Lasley, Shawn (John Louton) Lasley; two granddaughters, Tracy Lasley and Trista (Brett) Pirlot; two great-grandchildren, Noah Lasley and Allison Lasley. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Shirley Lasley, and nephew Willard (Peggy) Beaumier. She was preceded in death by three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marion (Bob) Burns, Grace (Bill) Beaumier and LaVerne (Fran) Cota, nephews Glenn Burns and Leslie Burns, and niece Joyce Behling.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Zion Lutheran Church, Oconto, from 9 to 11 AM Saturday, November 24, 2018. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Saturday at the church with the Pastor Paul Scheunemann officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. The family would like to thank the team from Heartland Hospice, especially Sabine, for their loving care, as well as Mom’s wonderful care givers, Renee`, Nancy, Shelly and Lorie.
