Obituary for Harold G. Sorenson

Harold G. Sorenson, 91, of Suamico, died peacfully at his home Monday, March 30, 2009. He was born on October 14, 1917 to William and Florence (Wiese) Sorenson in Madison, WI. He and Virginia Karow were married on June 28 1940 in DeForest, WI. Their family consisted of Jill (Daryl) Stephens and Paul Sorenson (Marcia Iverson).
Harold Sorenson and Susan Palmer were married at the First Presbyterian Church, Oconto on February 1, 1974.
He enjoyed golfing, fishing, working in his shop making something new out of something old. He also enjoyed bowling, snowmobiling, reading and story telling.
He worked in the trades all is life, he was a master plumber, electrician and heating man. Harold was very proud of doing line work on the Alcan highway and working for Frank Lloyd Wright.
Harold was a member and former trustee of the First Presbyterian Church, Oconto. He was a member of Pine Lodge #188 F&AM, Oconto and was a charter member of Beja Shrine and the Beja Sprees.
He is survived by his wife Susan, son Paul Sorenson (Marcia Iverson), New Berlin; daughter Jill (Daryl) Stephens DeForest;; special foster son Bill LeBine, Green Bay; grandchildren Kari (Joel) Caulum, Portage; Kim (Erik) Peterson, Sun Prairie: Kristen Sorenson, Kenosha; Erika (Brad) Behling, Salem, WI. Great grandchildren, Claire, Tyler and Paige
Caulum; Kameron and Ethan Peterson;; Alyssa Emerick and Harper Behling and many other friends and relatives.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Raymond and Robert.
In lieu of flowers a memorial may be given to the First Presbyterian Church, Oconto; Shrine Childrens Hospital or a charity of your choice.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the First Presbyterian Church, Oconto, from 1 to 3 PM Saturday, April 4, 2009. Masonic funeral rites will be held by Oconto Pine Lodge #188 at 3 PM. Memorial services will be conducted 3:30 PM at the church with the Rev. Craig Alwin officiating. Burial will be at the Mountain Cemetery at a later date. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, is assisting the family. On line condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net
