Obituary for Gloria Wedgewood
Gloria Wedgwood, 84, of Oconto, passed away Friday, August 19, 2011 at Country House, Oconto. Gloria was born December 30, 1926 in Oconto to the late Albert and Madeline (Andersen) Stellmacher. She married George Wedgwood on March 24, 1945. He preceded her in death on March 6, 1981. Gloria farmed side by side with her husband George, on the family farm, for over forty years. In earlier years Gloria was active at her church, St. John’s Lutheran, Lt. Suamico, and also with the 4H. Gloria was a kind and loving wife, mother and sister. She was always willing to help others. Gloria is survived by sisters Alice Schmitz, Milwaukee; Mary (Jerry) Sherman, VA; Barbara (Jim) Hadley, CO; Jeanie (Bob) Eckes, NJ; brothers John (Mary) Stellmacher, Oconto; and Les (Rose) Stellmacher, Oconto. She was preceded in death by a son Roger Wedgwood in 1979, sisters Doris Peterson, Flora Frawley, Betty Doud and a brother Joe Stellmacher. The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Johns Lutheran Church, Lt. Suamico, from 10 AM to 12 Noon Friday, August 26, 2011. Funeral services will be conducted 12 Noon Friday at the church with the Rev. Solveig A. H. Zamzow officiating. Burial will be at the Riverside Cemetery. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, is assisting the family. On line condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
