Glenn A. Snyder, 80, of Oconto, passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 at Woodlands of Oconto. Glenn was born September 5, 1930 in Pensaukee to the late John and Lillian (Larson) Snyder. He married Marilyn Retzlaff on February 15, 1958. She preceded him in death on February 17, 1991. Glenn worked for Jackie Foster Inc. for 25 years. He then worked for Super Wash part time for 17 years. Glenn was Town Chairman of Pensaukee for 6 years, Brookside Cemetery Board for 18 years, he drove for Commission on Aging for approximately 9 years, and was on the Housing Authority Board for 6 years. Glenn served in the U.S. National Guard and was a member of the First American Lutheran Church, Oconto.
Glenn is survived by three daughters Becky (James) Baranczyk, Abrams; Barb (Donald) Sikma, Oconto; Judy (Rick) Weston, West Bend; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother Eugene Snyder, and companion of 15 years Bonnie Swaer, who died December 24, 2010.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 PM Monday, April 18, 2011. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, April 19 at the First American Lutheran Church, Oconto, from 10 to 11 AM. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Mary Zupansik officiating. Burial will be at Brookside Cemetery. On line condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
