George Martin Stordeur, 65, of Abrams, passed away Monday, October 1, 2012 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. George was born December 12, 1946 in Green Bay to the late Norbert and Florence (Wisniewski) Stordeur. He married Kathy “Kat” Bukoski-Nelson on November 4, 1994. George graduated from Green Bay East High School in 1965. He served in the US Marine Corps from 1966 - 1970. George worked at P&G for 36 ½ years. After 9 years of retirement he enjoyed the past 1 ½ years working with LeTourneau Plastics, where his sense of humor was well loved. He played and coached hockey for many years at DePere ice rink and made an excellent Santa Claus, skating around the rink with the little kids. George loved being up north and the great outdoors, fishing, snowmobiling and hunting. George knew somebody wherever he went and made friends easily and graciously. He always felt lucky to be with family and friends. He loved making booyah, watching old westerns, crosswords, NASCAR and gold jewelry. George is survived by his wife “Kat” Stordeur, Abrams; four sisters, Mary Ann Peters, Green Bay; Sue (Ronald) Suski, Green Bay; Theresa Peters (Jim Schleis), Green Bay; Donna Hansen, Gleason; a brother, David (Beth) Stordeur, Green Bay; four sons and their children, Martin (Missy) Stordeur, granddaughter Marley, CO; Aaron (Margie) Stordeur, grandson North, Green Bay; Peter Nelson (Jess Sandberg), Port Edwards; Jake Nelson (Megan Hanson) DePere. Also survived by father-in-law Don Bukoski, Green Bay; sisters-in-law Susan (Jim) Moore, Suring; Nancy Simons, Green Bay; Mary Bukoski, Green Bay; many nieces, nephews and special childhood friends Al Sinclair and Kip Boucher. He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Miriam Bukoski, brothers-in-law, Terry Peters, Kenneth Peters, Mike Simons and John Bukoski. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 3 to 7 PM Friday, October 5, 2012. Funeral services will be conducted 7 PM Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Craig Alwin officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
