Obituary for George E. Peterson, Jr.
George E. Peterson Jr., 74, of Oconto, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2010 at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center, Green Bay. George was born December 11, 1936 in Marinette to the late George and Mildred (Herning) Peterson Sr.. He married Joan Baldwin on February 4, 1960. George worked at Marinette Marine for over thirty years, retiring in 1998. He also worked for the Bond Pickle Co.. George loved the outdoors and all it had to offer, he especially enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Lakewood. George was a member of Oconto Gospel Chapel, Oconto, and the Lena Snow Drifters.
George is survived by his wife Joan Peterson, Oconto; a daughter Lisa (Michael) Brown, Menominee, MI; a son Randy Peterson, Omro; two brothers Dick (Pat) Peterson, Marinette; Don (Cheryl) Peterson, Marinette; a sister Marlene (Harlan) Suchan, Green Bay; and two grandchildren Kaley Koutnik and Jessica Brown. George was preceded in death by two sisters Bonnie Hartzhiem and Joanne Lindner.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Oconto Gospel Chapel, Oconto, from 3 to 6 PM Wednesday, December 22, 2010. Funeral services will be conducted 6 PM Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Peter Dorn officiating. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, is assisting the family.
