Obituary for Eugene Adam Staidl

Eugene Adam Staidl, 83, of Oconto, passed away Friday morning, September 2, 2016 at Rennes Health Care in DePere. The son of the late Emil and Lina Mae (Macfarlane) Staidl, was born April 6, 1933 in Oconto. Eugene married Donna Lambrecht on October 20, 1956 at the First Presbyterian Church. He worked for Oconto Milling Company, Cruisers, sailed the Great Lakes, Carpenters Union Local 1146, and was a dairy farmer in the Town of Little River. Active in the National Guard for eleven years as the #1 marksmen. He enjoyed trap shooting, fishing, hunting and his love for animals. Eugene loved to spend time at family get togethers.

Eugene is survived by his wife, Donna; three children, Cindy (Harry) Shallow, Oconto; Einard, Oconto; Valerie (Steve) Borkovec, Lena; brother, Doug (Mary Kay Basten) Staidl, Green Bay; grandchildren, Keegan Shallow, Logan Shallow, Nicholas Staidl, Kaitlyn Borkovec, two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 PM Monday, September 5, 2016. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 from 10 to 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church, Oconto. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Tuesday at the church with the Rev. Craig Alwin and Dean Good officiating. Burial will be at the Evergreen Cemetery with Military Rites by Oconto American Legion Post #74.
