Obituary for Edward De Lano

Edward De Lano, 100 of Pensaukee died Thursday, April 3, 2008 at his home. Ed was born April 9, 1907 in Pensaukee to the late Harry and Anna De Lano. Ed married June Leigh on June 26, 1929. She preceded him in death on August 19, 1997. Ed graduated from Stephenson Agricultural Training School. He purchased the Woodlawn farm and operated it of 85 years. Ed sold insurance for Maple Valley from 1938 to 1990. Ed founded the 4H Club in Couillardville. Ed was a Sunday school teacher at the Oconto Gospel Chapel for 25 years. Ed was a Committeeman for Farmers Home Administration since 1937. Ed was a member of the Oconto Gospel Chapel.
Ed is survived by a daughter Yvonne (Gordon) Schmid, Pensaukee; a daughter-in-law Judithe De Lano, Pensaukee; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by a son Mervyn De Lano, a brother Milton E. Nicholas, and a sister Jewel Matravers.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Oconto Gospel Chapel, Oconto from 9:30 to 11 AM Wednesday, April 9, 2008. Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday 11 AM at the church with the Rev. David Williams officiating. The Gallagher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Oconto, is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for the Humane Society.
