Obituary for 'Duke' Elmer H. Duket

The Lord called "Duke" Elmer H. Duket home on Wednesday, May 19, 2010. Duke was born October 20, 1929 in Springfield, IL to the late Walter and Ruth Duket. He married Elizabeth Jorgensen on November 19, 1977. Duke served four years in the US Navy and was a lifetime member of the D.A.V.. He retired in 1986 after 35 years on the road as a professional truck driver. Duke was a member of the First American Lutheran Church, Oconto.

Duke is survived by his loving wife and best friend Elizabeth Duket, Oconto; three daughters Leann (Mitch) Halstead, Milwaukee; Sandra (Mark) Pollock, West Allis; Dawn (Gerard) Krukar, Milwaukee; two sons Phil (Larna) Duket, Milwaukee; Keith (Kathy) Duket, Fresno, CA; two step-daughters Peg (Mel) Bartels, Abrams; Leanne (Bob) Krueger, Oshkosh; a brother Jim (Eileen) Duket, CA; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Duke is preceded in death by seven brothers and four sisters.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the First American Lutheran Church, Oconto, from 12 Noon to 2 PM Saturday, May 22, 2010. Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Saturday at the church with the Rev. Mary Zupansik officiating. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, is assisting the family.
