Obituary for Douglas DeWitt

Douglas Holt DeWitt, 78, of Oconto, died Sunday December 4, 2005 at Woodlands Nursing Home, Oconto. Douglas was born September 23, 1927 in Oconto to the late Donald and Mary Eleanor (Holt) DeWitt. He married Patricia Rymer in December of 1968. Douglas drove truck his entire life and began his truck driving company in 1954. Along with driving truck Douglas enjoyed spending his time on the family property on Archibald Lake in Lakewood. Douglas was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Oconto. Douglas is survived by his wife Patricia, Oconto; one daughter Karla (Darren) Doyle, Combined Locks; three sons Kimm DeWitt, Green Bay; Terry (Patti) DeWitt, Fitchburg; Don (Kristy) DeWitt, Neenah; one brother Carlton Peter DeWitt, Oconto; one sister-in-law Laurene DeWitt-Davidson, Marinette; and seven grandchildren. He is preceded in death by one brother Dr. Robert DeWitt and one sister-in-law Marilyn DeWitt. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 5 to 9 PM Thursday December 8, 2005, and again on Friday December 9 from 10 to 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be conducted Friday 11 AM at the church with the Rev. Thomas Beck officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery. On line condolences may be expressed at In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
