Dorothea A. Hellmann, 88, of DePere, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2007 at Rennes Nursing Home, DePere. Dorothea was born march 17, 1919 in Little Suamico to the late Robert and Lydia (Bramschreiber) Pagel. She married Arthur Hellmann on June 15, 1946 at the Brookside Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on July 19, 1982. Dorothea was a School teacher in the Oconto area for her entire career. Dorothea was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Abrams, Ladies Aid, and WREA. Dorothea is survived by a daughter Wendy (James) Steffenhagen, Hudson; a son Robert (JoAnne) Hellmann, Green Bay; two sisters Violet (Willard) Buss, Sterling, VA; Shirley Johnston, Pittsfield, IL; eight grandchildren Lisa (David) Joyce, Becky (Joel) Aldinger, Amy (Joshua) Ohotto, Christopher (fiancee Amber Pedersen) Hellmann, Adam Hellmann, Meghan Hellmann, Stacey (Tim) Janowski, Justin (special friend Brianna Hansen) Delebreau, and six great grandchildren Colin, Elisabeth, Mikayla, Stone, Noah, and Madylyn. She is preceded in death by two sisters Evelyn Pagel, Lydia Pagel and a brother-in-law Charles Johnston. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 PM Sunday, April 1, 2007. Visitation will continue on Monday, April 2, from 10 to 11 AM at Calvary Lutheran Church, Abrams. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Monday at the church with the Rev. Alan Klessig officiating. Burial will be at the Brookside Cemetery.
