Clarence Spice, 85, of Lena, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at his home. Clarence was born April 27, 1931 in the Town of Little River to the late Clyde and Mary (Dessell) Spice. He married Betty Ellman on September 10, 1955. Clarence was a high school athlete for Oconto Falls and was 2nd team all conference in basketball. He served his Country as a tank driver in the US Army. Clarence was a rural mail carrier for over twenty years, at the same time he ran the family farm. In his retirement he enjoyed working in the woods, woodworking for his family and watching the birds. Clarence was a member of First American Lutheran Church, Oconto.
Clarence is survived by his wife Betty Spice; three sons, Scott (Rose) Spice; Mitch (Amy) Spice; Craig (Lori) Spice; three daughters, Tanis (Steve) Brennan; Sandy (Eric) Kurowski; Betsy (Chad) Markiewicz; a sister, Verine Wahl; many grand and great-grandchildren; and a special Godchild Lisa Schlorhaufer. He was preceded in death by a son, Shawn Spice; three brothers, Earl, Clyde and Donald Spice; three sisters, Gertrude Whiting, Dimples Mehlberg, Loretta Randall; and a brother-in-law, Mike Wahl.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the First American Lutheran Church, Oconto, from 10 AM to 1 PM Friday, December 16, 2016. Funeral services will be conducted 1 PM Friday at the church with the Rev. Mary Zupansic officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery with Military Rites by Oconto American Legion Post #74.
