Charlotte Cota-Nelson, 91, Oconto, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, February 5, 2006 at Bayshore Pines. She was born December 10, 1914 in rural Oconto to the late George and Frances Borchert. On march 3, 1932, she married Louis Cota. He preceded her in death on September 21, 1965. On October 28, 1967, Charlotte and Philip Nelson were united in marriage until his death, February 10, 1992. She was an active member in the Oconto Gospel Chapel. She was a devoted to her family, friends and helped people in need. Her profound faith, strength of character and sense of humor were an inspiration to all she met. She love her church and many friends. She taught Sunday school and sang in the choir in past years, active in the Ladies? Missionary Group and Bible Study Groups. Charlotte loved spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and gardening. Charlotte is survived by two sons Richard (Noreen) Cota, Cecil; David (Karen)Cota, DePere; her five step-children Alva (Jack) Herald, Oconto; Alice (Jim) Uhlsing, Sheboygan; John (Joyce) Nelson, Kenosha; Kenneth (Lynn) Nelson, Green Bay; Vernon (Cheryl) Nelson, Greenville; one step-daughter-in-law Margaret Nelson, Lt. Suamico; five grandchildren Tim Cota, Howard; Troy (Leslie) Cota; Oshkosh; Michelle (Rick) Knesebeck, Simpsonville, SC; Jack Antczak, Milwaukee; and Kari (Larry) Ahrens, DePere; nine great grandchildren Christina and Brian Cota, Ashley and Erica Cota, Nicholas, Katie, Hannah and Chandler Knesebeck, and Aidan Ahrens. She is further survived by her sister Claryce Finger, Peshtigo; her brother Wesley (Violet) Borchert, Oconto; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren, and special friends Mabel DePouw, Mae Racine, and Vi Gordon. Charlotte was preceded in death by one daughter Beverly Antczak, four brothers Robert Querine, Jesse, and Freeman, two sisters Ruth Noack and Grace Heise, two step-children Ruth Herrera and Stanley Nelson. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 PM Thursday February 9, 2006, and again on Friday February 10 from 10 to 11 AM at the Oconto Gospel Chapel. Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Friday at the church with the Rev. Bob Schut officiating. On line condolences may be expressed at www.gallagherfuneralhome.net.
