Obituary for Charels W. Ratzburg
Charles W. Ratzburg, 71, of Oconto, peacefully entered eternal life surrounded by his family on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at his home. Charles was born to Alvin and Pearl (Seipold) Ratzburg on December 16, 1937 in Milwaukee. Charles married LuAnn (Lemke) Bitters in Oconto on February 11, 1961. Charles (Chuck) was the franchise owner of the H & R Block office in Oconto for the past 16 years. Charles was a very active member of Zion Lutheran Church, Oconto, and the Lutheran Laymens League. He held various offices in both over the years, and in 1991 was awarded the Lutheran Laymens League Laymen of the Year. He enjoyed cooking fish boil fundraisers for numerous churches and organizations around the state. Chuck loved hunting and fishing with his family along with the many holidays and family gatherings. He was an avid Packers and Brewers fan.
Charles is survived by his loving wife LuAnn, Oconto; daughters Lynn ( Gary Lesperance) Ratzburg, Oconto; Lori Ratzburg, Appleton; sons Todd (Lori) Ratzburg, Oconto; Brian (Linda) Ratzburg, Oconto; Jerald (Anna) Ratzburg, Fort Wayne, IN; Chad (Tracey) Ratzburg, Appleton; ten grandchildren Travis Lesperance, Carisa (Anthony) Perrizo, Benjamin, Lucas, Rebecca, Neil, Joshua, Erik, Lauren and Jacob Ratzburg, one great grandson Brady Perrizo. One brother, Ronald (Beatrice) Ratzburg, Jefferson. Further survived by many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Charles was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Pearl Ratzburg.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Zion Lutheran Church, Oconto, from 12 Noon to 3 PM Sunday, September 27, 2009. Funeral services will be conducted 3 PM Sunday at the church with the Rev. Dr. Bruce Blocker officiating. The Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, is assisting the family.
