Ann E. Hermen, 101, of Oconto, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Woodlands Nursing Home, Oconto. Ann was born December 28, 1909 in Bassevelde, Belgium. Ann came to this Country with her parents in 1911. Daughter of Charles and Emma Werrebroeck, who built the Copper Culture home, where Ann gave tours every Saturday and Sunday during the summer. Ann attended Oconto Schools and the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music in Milwaukee. She also did a lot of volunteer work.
Ann is survived by two daughters Shirley (Kenneth) Golonka, Oconto; Betty (Joseph) Badem, Oconto; two sons James (Julie Romenesko) Hermen, Green Bay; Robert Hermen, Oconto; fifteen grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Emma, husband Carl Hermen, a sister Claire Groth, two brothers Marshall Ryckaert, Prosper Werrebroeck and a grandson Michael Joseph Badem.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Gallagher Funeral Home, Oconto, from 4 to 8 PM Sunday, March 20, with prayer services at 7 PM by Deacon Walter Kaszynski. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11 AM Monday, March 21 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Bob Karuhn officiating. Burial will be at the Oconto Catholic Cemetery.
