Amelia Elizabeth Forgie, daughter of the late Helia (H.M.) and Ruth Olson was born at Ottawa, Illinois. She grew up near Lena, WI where she graduated from Lena High School. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh and her Master of Science Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She completed one year on her Doctoral Degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, by attending summer school sessions and Saturday classes at Madison. Amelia was a teacher in Oconto County and Peshtigo before becoming County Principal in Green Bay Public Schools and Associate Professor for many summers at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. She has continued to serve as supervisor of student teachers for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. Amelia was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church EDUCARE Board, U. W. Oshkosh, American Red Cross, Lakeland Chapter, the Green Bay Public Schools, Elementary Principals Association, the Wisconsin Professional Advancement Committee and numerous other professional and civic organizations. She was elected to membership in Pi Lambda Theta, Madison Chapter in 1958, a national honor society for women in education. Amelia was presently serving on the NEWCAP Board of Directors at Oconto, Oconto Hospital Auxiliary and the Oconto Area Humane Society. Amelias hard work and enjoyment permeated every aspect of her life. Amelia and her late husband, Joseph Forgie, former Oconto Postmaster, enjoyed their country home on the shore of Green Bay, the great outdoors and caring for many of Gods creatures.
Survivors include sisters-in-law, Phyllis Olson, LasVegas, NV; and Agnes (Forgie) Anthonisen, Sheboygan, and nieces and nephews, many special friends and her very special Rottweiller Miles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, one brother Marvin Olson.

A memorial fund has been established in her name to benefit the new Oconto Hospital and the Oconto Area Humane Society.\r\n
