In loving memory of
Albert Harder
who peacefully went to meet his Creator and Savior on Friday, August 11, 2017, 6:30 p.m, at the age of 27 years, 10 months and 13 days at the St. Mary’s Hospital in Green Bay, WI, two weeks after it was discovered that he had a hypoactive thyroid and congestive heart failure.
Albert was born to Johann and Eva (Penner) Harder on September 29, 1989 in Ontario, Canada. Soon after his birth it was discovered that he had some limitations. On day 6 his one eye fell in and it was later discovered that he was blind on that eye. As time went on, more limitations became obvious; for example, he could not hold his head until he was a year old and did not walk until he was three. Throughout his life, he struggled with various limitations. In the past 5 or 6 years, his health has been waning; he was often tired and out of energy. In the last few months, his health started going down faster, until two weeks ago he was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with hypoactive thyroid and congestive heart failure. He was released from the hospital within a few days, but did not regain his strength. For the last 4 days he was on oxygen and the last couple of days he could eat almost nothing. He was hospitalized again on August 11, and after some tests, they were going to transfer him to another room. As they got to the door of the room they were going to take him into, he peacefully passed away.
Though Albert had many limitations, he had a strong, childlike faith. At age 15 he gave his heart to the Lord and he was baptized upon his confession of faith on October 27, 2007. He was not ashamed to speak to people about God and in a kind way he challenged people.
He will be dearly missed by his parents, Johann and Eva; siblings: Nettie and Noah Mack and 4 children of Barto, PA; Tina and Paul Gascho and 6 children of Aylmer, ON; Eva and Jesse Amstutz and 6 children of Oconto, WI; Judy and Timothy Hartzler and 9 children of Vest, KY; Helen and Willy Bergen and 6 children of La Honda, Mexico; Elizabeth and Jesse Lauver and 5 children of Barto, PA; Neal and Shannon (Morris) Harder and 3 children of Attica, NY; Willy and Rhoda (Halteman) Harder and 7 children of Leburn, KY; Emmy and Stephen Brubaker and 4 children of Oconto, WI; Bertha and Stephen Lauver and 1 child of Liverpool, PA; Esther and Gary Hoover and 2 children of Gooding, ID. Albert will also be fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Albert was preceded in death by one sister, Sara; 2 nephews, Lemuel Justin (Helen and Willy) and Rylan Lamar (Emmy and Stephen); 1 niece, Virginia Joy (Helen and Willy); both sets of grandparents, two uncles and one aunt on his mothers side, and one uncle and one aunt on his fathers side.
Viewing will be at the Gallagher Funeral Home in Oconto, Wisconsin on Tuesday, August 15 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. and then again from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with prayer services at 8 p.m., all are welcome.
